Disability Services

Disability Services provides a range of flexible accommodation support options for people with disabilities to assist them to live as independently as possible. Whilst services are available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, in the Sydney Metropolitan area, the level of support provided varies according to people’s needs. Some people with a range of complex needs require twenty four hour coverage in shared households whilst others require drop in support or in home support and assistance with daily living skills.

To ensure that each person’s needs are met in a coherent and responsive manner, a person-centred, values-based approach, supported by individual plans for each person receiving services, provides a regular and consistent process to support people to meet their personal goals. Other planning tools such as Behaviour Support, Community Support and Health Care plans are used as required to assist in meeting the needs of the people we support in the most appropriate way.

When people live at home, our support can be tailored to meet the needs of the whole family. We see our role as “making it happen” so as to support and assist the family unit remain in control whilst knowing that their person is receiving the support that they need.

People receiving support from this service are typically funded at least in part by Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC), part of the NSW Government Department of Human Services. People interested in receiving support should also check with the funding agency to confirm their eligibility and service access requirements
